I am thrilled to be here with our students at West Briar Middle School! My name is Alissa Trevino and I am in my 17th year of teaching art, all levels (most of them in high school). 9/21/23 - Scholastic Art & Writing Awards: Information is available for any students interested in entering the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Deadline for entry is 12/1/23 for students in grades 7-12 (ages 13+). There are 28 categories to enter for art and writing. Visit the website or ask your art teacher for more information. 9/20/23 - Kinder HSPVA Fine Arts Middle School Workshops: Kinder High School for Performing & Visual Arts (HSPVA) is hosting a series of Middle School Workshops. The 1st Visual Arts Workshop will be on Saturday, November 4 from 9:30am-3:00pm. There will be a 2nd Visual Arts Workshop on Saturday, November 11 from 9:30am-3:00pm with a different curriculum. 9/11/23 - Hello parents! I'm so sorry, but I will not be making it to Open House this week. I had surgery 2 weeks ago and am still recovering. Feel free to click on the above to the Art Gallery where I will be posting student artwork throughout the year. I will also be posting Art Contests in this announcements section as we begin working on them.
